This very hard to find toy, The Smitty Scooter tin windup is a whimsical toy who represents the young office boy “Smitty” who was a comic character created by Walter Berndt. The back of the scooter says: Licensed by Famous Artists Syndicate MARX Chicago USA. Smitty could be removed from his scooter The foot will slide into the slot on the scooter. He rolls in a large circle when wound up and put on a smooth floor. There is some small areas of oxidation here and there. Grab it before it’s gone and you won’t find another one. Measures 6″ length, 3″ depth and 8″ height. Circa 1925.
